The Astral Sleep is Tiamat's second album. It marks their debut on Century Media Records. This album was reissued in 2006 with two tracks from the 1990 single "A Winter Shadow." Musically, this album combines the death metal style of Tiamat's debut album with elements of gothic metal. Lyrically, this album features a blend of Satanism with introspective and esoteric themes.
