Darkness and Hope is the fifth album by the Portuguese band Moonspell, produced and released in 2001.
It was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa. All songs were written by Moonspell except for "Os Senhores Da Guerra," "Mr. Crowley," and "Love Tear Will Us Apart," which are covers of Madredeus, Ozzy Osbourne, and Joy Division, respectively.
Some people classify this album, along with "Wolfheart" and "Irreligious," as Moonspell's most important and influential albums.
The tracks "Nocturna," "DevilRed," "Heartshaped Abyss," "Than the Serpents in My Hands," and "Firewalking" are considered the most significant contributions to this album. It was titled "Darkness and Hope," after the song of the same name.
