Autumn's Dawn is an Australian metal band formed in 2014 by two seasoned musicians, Tim Yatras (known as Sorrow, founding member of Austere, Germ and many other bands) and Matthew Bell (known as Anguish, member of Tjaktjadálvve, Skuggor among the many). Both artists were already recognized in the Australian metal scene for their involvement in various other projects before coming together to create a band that would blend elements of black metal, depressive rock, and atmospheric music.
Five years after their latest release, Dying Ember, Anguish and Sorrow return with their latest album, We Lost Our Hope Along the Way. The album encapsulates the band's signature blend of crushing vocals and melancholic atmospheres while introducing fresh dimensions inspired by 90s rock and intricate, lush layering.
Expanding on their roots in depressive rock and black metal, Autumn's Dawn has created an album that is both familiar and daringly new. With tracks that balance harrowing intensity and moments of poignant beauty, We Lost Our Hope Along the Way explores themes of despair, loss, and fleeting hope.
