The Formation of Damnation is the ninth studio album by the American thrash metal group Testament, published on April 29, 2008. It is the first album by Testament to publish new material since 1999 with The Gathering, although the band re-recorded some songs from their first album in 2001 with First Strike Still Deadly. This is also the first release of Testament with original guitarist Alex Skolnick since The Ritual in 1992, and bassist Greg Christian since Low in 1994.
