Info : Yersinia Pestis is a band part of the Southern Lodge, hailing from the coldest and most hidden depths of Northern Spain. Formed in 2006, it includes members of other well-known Spanish bands such as In the Shades, Empty, Cryptic Wanderings, Ataraxy, Black Spirit, etc.
After several demos and the split, "putrefactio", this is their debut album. It offers a clear allegory of our current times, full of meanness, fragility and the mockery of decadent society we live in.
The album revolves around death at all levels.
Mental death.
Moral death.
Spiritual death.
And finally, the total end of illness and physical death.
Drawing from Latin language, so intrinsic to the Romanesque art of the region from which Yersinia Pestis rises, and inspired by the narratives of Medieval codex of ADONIAS and the death of his father, understood in as a current vessel; it shows the fear of death and the void it causes in the human being.
Musically, any follower of bands such as Demoncy, Krieg, Vermeth, Beherit, Mayhem, Profanatica, Clandestine Blaze, Blut Aus Nord, Hemlock, Judas Iscariot or even Aluk Todolo, will find the same addiction to blackness, death and putrefaction in this record. This is an immersive and cathartic journey towards the very nature of death.
